Aidin (Guzel-Hissar), a town of western Asia Minor, on the river Meander, is the capital of a province, and was built out of the ruins of the ancient Tralles. It lies 60 miles SE. of Smyrna by railway. The trade is important, especially in morocco leather, cotton, figs, olives, and grapes. Pop. about 30,000.
