Alpnach. or ALPNACHT, a Swiss village, in the canton of Unterwalden, at the foot of Mount Pilatus, miles from that part of Lake Lucerne called Lake Alpnach. It is known principally on account of its celebrated 'slide,' now disused, which was 8 miles long, and by means of which timber was brought from the forests of Mount Pilatus to the village. Pop. 1679.
