Amraoti (sometimes Oomrawuttee), a district in Berar, British India, with an area of 2759 sq. m., and a pop. (1891) of 655,645. Its capital, Amraoti, is an important cotton mart, a terminus of a state branch railway, and the headquarters of the commissioner of the whole province. Pop. (1881) 23,550; (1891) 33,755.
