An'akim

An'akim, a people living in the south of Palestine, and especially about Hebron, then called Kirjath-arba. They are described in Scripture as a race of giants, and their name may come from a Hebrew root meaning strength or stature. They are also called 'Sons of Anak,' and were possessed by Joshua. See Num. xiii.
