Anguilla, or LITTLE SNAKE, an English West India Island, one of the Lesser Antilles, lying 160 miles almost due E. of the eastern extremity of Porto Rico. Area, 35 sq. m.; pop. 2500. The island is long and winding in form, is very flat in surface, and contains extensive pasture for cattle and horses. Phosphate of lime and salt are exported.
