Apu'rimac, a river of Peru, also called Tambo, which, after a northward course of 500 miles, helps to form the Ucayali, and finally joins the Amazon, of which it is one of the most southerly tributaries. It gives name to a province of Peru, with an area of 62,325 sq. m., and a population of over 120,000.
