Ath, or AATH, a fortified town in the province of Hainault, Belgium, on the navigable Dender, 32 miles SW. of Brussels. It has a lofty tower dating from 1150, an arsenal, hospital, and college, important manufactures of linen, calicoes, lace, &c., and a brisk trade. Pop. 9868.
