Atrek, a river of Persia, rising in Khorasan, among the Hazár Masjid Mountains, and thence flowing nearly 350 miles westward to the Caspian Sea, from Shatt downwards along the boundary with the Russian empire. Its width at the mouth is usually only 30 feet, but in the spring tides it overflows its banks to a width of over two miles.
