Augustovo, a town of Russian Poland, in the government of Suwałki, on the Netta, a feeder of the Bug, 138 miles NE. of Warsaw. It was founded by Sigismund Augustus, king of Poland, in 1547. It has woollen and linen manufactures. The Netta, flowing out of a lake rich in fish, is connected by canal with the Niemen. Pop. 11,094.
