Bahraich, a town of Oudh, India, near the old bed of the Gogra, 70 miles NE. of Lucknow. It is an old town, with some local trade in piece goods and copper utensils. To the shrine of Masáud, a warrior and Mussulman saint, there is a great concourse of pilgrims annually in the month of May. Pop. (1891) 20,000. The area of the district of Bahraich is 2741 sq. m., and the population, 878,048.
