Ballantrac, a fishing-village at the mouth of the Stinchar, in the S. of Ayrshire, 10 miles WSW. of Pinwherry station on the Girvan and Portpatrick Railway. It is the headquarters of the south-west fishery district of Scotland. Fishing is largely carried on. Pop. (1871) 515; (1881) 742; (1891) 524.
