Barcello'na and Pozzo di Gatto, two towns of Sicily, in the province of Messina, standing close together, so as really to form one town, the two parts of which are separated by a small stream, about 22 miles WSW. of Messina. Pop. of the two towns together, 14,500. Barcellona is situated in a broad plain, between the mountains and the sea, abounding in corn, wine, oil, and fruit, and has sulphur-baths.
