Battle Creek, a thriving town of Michigan, on the Kalamazoo River, and at the junction of several railways, 45 miles SW. of Lansing. It has flour-mills, iron-foundries, machine-shops, and several manufactories. Pop. (1880) 7063; (1890) 13,197.
