Bayne, PETER, born at Fodderty, Ross-shire, 19th October 1830, studied at Marischal College, Aberdeen, and became editor of newspapers successively in Glasgow, Edinburgh, and London. He is author of Christian Life at the Present Time, The Life of Hugh Miller (1871), Lessons from my Masters, Two Great Englishwomen, and a Life of Luther (1887).
