Udaipur, or MEWAR, a native state of Rajputana (q.v.); area, 12,670 sq. m.; pop. (1891) 1,832,420. The capital is Udaipur (sometimes spelt Oodeypore), picturesque situated on a ridge overlooking a romantic lake, 140 miles SW. of Ajmere; pop. 38,143.
