Wetzlar, a small town of Rhenish Prussia, charmingly situated on the Lahn, 40 miles by rail N. of Frankfurt-on-the-Main; pop. 7844. Part of its old cathedral dates from the 13th century. Wetzlar is the scene of the Sorrows of Werther.
