Whittlesey, a market-town of Cambridgeshire, 5½ miles E. by S. of Peterborough. Whittlesey Mere, a shallow lake (2 by 1 mile), which formerly existed in the north of Huntingdonshire, 4 miles SW. of Whittlesey, abounded in fish, water-fowl, &c., but is now drained and laid out in cultivation.
