Windischgrätz, PRINCE (1787-1862), Austrian field-marshal, played a conspicuous part in suppressing the revolution of 1848-49 at Prague and Vienna, and as generalissimo in Hungary defeated the Hungarians in several battles, but was superseded after his defeat by them at Gödölo.
