Wörth, a village (pop. 1064) of Alsace-Lorraine, about 10 miles SW. of Wissembourg (Weissenburg), where, on the 6th August 1870, the French were defeated by the Germans (see FRANCE, p. 782). The French call the battle Reichshofen.
