Yapock

Yapock (Chironectes palmatus), an aquatic marsupial quadruped of the Opossum family, Didelphyidae, the only known species of its genus. It occurs from Guatemala to southern Brazil. Its food consists of small fishes, crustaceans, and the like. The feet are webbed for adaptation to the aquatic habits. In size the yapock is rather larger than a rat; the general colour is light gray crossed by transverse bars of brown.
