Zacharias, pope from 741 to 752, was a Greek by birth. He gave his consent to the setting aside of the Merovingian Childeric III. and the elevation to the throne of Pepin the Short (752). He died at Rome, 14th March 752. See books by D. Bartolini (1879) and I. Cozza-Luzi (1880).
