Bekes, or BEKESVAR, a town of Hungary, at the confluence of the Black and White Körös, 113 miles SE. of Pesth. The inhabitants principally engage in agriculture, and trade in cattle and corn, and honey. Pop. (1890) 25,087. See also CSABA.
