Beloit, a city of Wisconsin, U.S., on Rock River, 75 miles SW. of Milwaukee by rail. It has a college (1847), several flour and paper mills, foundries, and manufactories of agricultural implements, &c. Pop. (1870) 4396; (1890) 6315.
