Bemersyde

Bemersyde, an estate with an old mansion, in Berwickshire, near the Tweed, $3\backslash frac\{1\}\{2\}$ miles E. of Melrose. It has been held since the 12th century by the Haigs, who form the subject of an excellent monograph by John Russell (Edin. 1881).
