Berezov ('the town of birch-trees'), a town of Siberia in the government of Tobolsk, on the left bank of the Sosva, a branch of the Obi. It marks the northern limit of the region of rye, barley, and horses, and is important as a fur and skin trading station. Pop. 2000, made up of Cossacks and exiles.
