Bervie, a Scotch burgh and seaport in Kincairdinshire, near the mouth of Bervie Water, 13 miles NE. of Montrose by rail. It has flax and tow mills, and factories of wincey and sacking, and here in 1788 was set up the first machine for spinning yarn in Scotland. Pop. 1194.
