Blair-Athole, a Perthshire village, situated at the confluence of the Garry and Tilt, 20 miles NNW. of Dunkeld. Blair Castle, the seat of the Duke of Athole, dates in its oldest part from the 13th century, and as restored in 1872 is a fine baronial structure. It has many memories of sieges and royal visits, from Queen Mary's days to Queen Victoria's. Claverhouse was buried in the old church of Blair.
