Blanchard, EDWARD LAMAN, journalist and theatrical writer, a son of William Blanchard, the comedian, was born in London, 11th December 1820, and early in life showed great aptitude for journalistic work and compilation for the publishers. Long a member of the Daily Telegraph staff, he wrote over a hundred pieces for the theatres, including many Christmas extravaganzas; he also published two novels. He died 4th September 1889.
