Blue Grass (Poa pratensis) is a permanent grass found in Europe and North America. By reason of its creeping root-stocks it forms a dense turf, but is more valued for pasture than for cropping. The blue grass pastures of Kentucky, where it grows spontaneously, have long been celebrated. It is also called June grass. See GRASS, PASTURE.
