Bo'marsund

Bo'marsund, a Russian fortress on Aland Island (q.v.), commanding the Gulf of Bothnia. In August 1854 it was destroyed by an Anglo-French force, after a six days' bombardment. The Treaty of Paris bound Russia not to restore it.
