Brucker, JOHANN JAKOB, historian and biographer, born at Augsburg in 1696, studied at Jena, and became pastor at Augsburg, where he died 26th November 1770. A laborious and voluminous writer, he is chiefly remembered by his Historia Critica Philosophic (5 vols. 1742-44; new ed. 1767).
