Buckie, a fishing-town of Banffshire, Scotland, 13 miles ENE. of Elgin by rail. 'The largest purely fishing-village' in Scotland, Buckie is the head of the fishery district from Banff to Findhorn. The present harbour (1874-80), constructed of concrete at a cost of £60,000, consists of an outer and inner basin, with an area of 9 acres. Pop. (1841) 2165; (1891) 5849.
