Bush-shrike is the name of a sub-family of Formicariidae, all American. They resemble the Butcher-bird (q.v.) or Shrike in their habits; and haunt the interior of bushes, where they seek for insects, larvae, and ants. Their song is specially vociferous. See ANT-THRUSH.
