Cadell, ROBERT (1788-1849), partner in the publishing-house of Constable & Co., Edinburgh, is described by Lockhart 'as one of the most acute men of business in creation.' After Constable's failure, Cadell began business again, and realised a handsome fortune by his various editions of Scott's works.
