Caltagirone

Caltagirone, a city of Sicily, 38 miles SW. of Catania, is built upon two hills (2013 feet). It has wide streets, and several palaces and fine public buildings. Its most notable manufactures are pottery and statuettes of clay, and there are technical and other schools. Pop. 28,119.
