Carburetted Hydrogen is a term in chemistry applied to several compounds of carbon and hydrogen. Thus, light carburetted or mono-carburetted hydrogen, , is the gaseous compound popularly known as marsh gas and fire-damp, and is the principal constituent of coal-gas (see GAS). Heavy carburetted or bi-carburetted hydrogen, , is otherwise known as Olefiant Gas (q.v.).
