Carlke, a town of Lanarkshire, 2½ miles E. of the Clyde, and 19½ SE. of Glasgow by rail. The neighbourhood is rich in coal, iron, and limestone, and mining is the chief industry. General Roy, the antiquary, was a native. Pop. 4116.
