Cascarilla Bark (Span. cascara, 'bark'), the tonic and astringent bark of Croton Eluteria, a small tree growing in the Bahamas, used in making incense (q.v.) and pastilles. The barks of a number of other species of Croton appear to possess similar properties, such as C. Cascarilla and C. Balsamiferum.
