Cassican (Cassicus), a genus of American birds allied to starlings, and yet more closely to the Hang-nests or Icteridæ. They exhibit marvellous skill in knitting together the shreds, &c., which form their hanging nests. See BALTIMORE BIRD, HANG-NESTS.
