Castleford, a town in the West Riding of Yorkshire, on the Aire, 10 miles SE. of Leeds. It was a Roman station, and is now the seat of extensive glass-works, manufacturing especially large quantities of bottles. Pop. (1851) 2150; (1891) 14,143.
