Cazembé, the title of an African prince, whose territory, also called Cazembé, extends between the Moero and Bangweolo lakes, west of 30° E. long. The people are industrious and skilful husbandmen and smiths, and carry on a brisk trade in ivory, copper, &c. It was in the Cazembé's territory, mainly now included in British South Africa or the British sphere, that Dr Livingstone died in 1873.
