Chambers's Encyclopaedia, Volume 3: Catarrh to Dion, p. 591

Crozet Islands. A group, between the Cape of Good Hope and Kerguelen's Land, in lat. 46° S., and long. 52° E. Except four or five, they are mere rocks, and are all uninhabited, though shipwrecked sailors have lived for a time on them. They were visited by the Challenger expedition in 1873-74.
