Dennowitz, a small village in the province of Brandenburg, Prussia, 42 miles SSW. of Berlin. Here was fought, on the 6th of September 1813, a battle in which 70,000 French, Saxons, and Poles, under Ney, were routed, after obstinate fighting, by 50,000 Prussians, under Bulow.
