Dolichos

Dolichos, a large genus of Leguminosæ, sub-order Papilionaceæ, closely allied to Phaseolus (see KIDNEY-BEAN), annual or perennial. Some are cultivated on account of their seeds or pods, notably D. Lablab of India and Egypt, D. soya (or Soja hispida), the Soy-bean of China and Japan, and many others.
