Dovrefjeld, part of the mountainous plateau of Norway, connecting the Kiölen Mountains with the Jotun Fjelde, lies between 63° and 62° 40' N. lat. The average elevation ranges from 2650 to 3600 feet; the highest point is Snehætten, 7566 feet. The main road from Christiania to Throndhjem crosses the Dovrefjeld by a pass 3445 feet above sea-level.
