Ecclesfield, a township in the West Riding of Yorkshire, 6 miles N. of Sheffield. The chief manufacture is cutlery, then flax, linen, paper, and nails; whilst in the vicinity there are coal and iron mines. Pop. (1851) 10,005; (1891) 25,885.
