Edmonton, a town on the navigable North Saskatchewan River, in the district of Alberta, in the Canadian North-west, and 191 miles by rail N. by E. of Calgary on the Canadian Pacific. Seams of lignite crop out, and there are sawmills, flour-mills, sash-factories, &c. Pop. 2500.
