Eriocaula'ceæ

Chambers's Encyclopaedia, Volume 4: Dionysius to Friction, p. 413

Eriocaula'ceæ, a small order of monocotyledons, allied to Restiaceæ, of grassy or rushy aspect, of marsh or aquatic habit, and unimportant properties. The 300 species are chiefly tropical; the North American Eriocaulon septangulare (Pipewort), however, occurs in muddy lake bottoms in West Ireland and the Hebrides.
