Fabriano, a city of Italy, at the eastern base of the Apennines, 44 miles by rail SW. of Ancona. It has a cathedral and the Rossenti museum, but is chiefly noteworthy for its paper and parchment manufactories, established in 1564. The churches and private houses contain many specimens of the Fabriano school of painting. Pop. 5593.
