Flers, a town of France, in the department of Orne, 41 miles S. of Caen by rail. It has large spinning, bleaching, and dyeing establishments, and is the centre of a busy manufacturing district, where linen and cotton goods, especially fustian and tickings, are produced. It contains an old castle, which was burned down in the Chouan war, but since restored. Pop. (1872) 8011; (1886) 11,257; (1890) 11,511.
